Crewe Business Improvement District (BID) has launched A Very Crewe Christmas, a coordinated campaign designed to promote festive activity across the town centre, Nantwich Road and Grand Junction Retail Park throughout November and December.
Delivered through Discover Crewe, the BID’s public facing brand, the campaign brings together light switch on events, family experiences, business promotions and a town centre trail to support footfall and strengthen the winter offer for levy payers.
As part of this, The Crewe Christmas Express Trail has been created to encourage families to explore the town centre. Five locations feature short clues and trail words that build towards a Christmas word search, with a bonus Golden Stop at Crewe Station celebrating the town’s rail heritage. Completed sheets can be posted at Crewe Market Hall for the chance to win a £200 prize. To read more about the trail visit Discover Crewe here.
Across the BID areas, several festive installations and events have been funded or supported by Crewe BID. These include the new seasonal lights at Grand Junction Retail Park, the BID funded tree on Nantwich Road and support for the Nantwich Road Action Group’s Christmas activity, where families can join the fun as the Rotary Club of Crewe escorts Father Christmas and his elves along the route at around 10am on Saturday, December 20th.
The BID is also promoting Crewe Town Council’s Christmas Lights Switch On, taking place on Saturday, November 29th, to help ensure the wider town benefits from increased footfall throughout the festive period.
Graham Saunders, Chair of the Crewe Business Improvement District board and General Manager at South Cheshire Glass, said: “A Very Crewe Christmas brings together activity across the town, giving people more reasons to visit and explore. From the lights to the events happening in each area, the focus is on supporting local businesses and creating a positive experience for everyone who comes into Crewe.” A Very Crewe Christmas forms part of the BID’s ongoing investment in enhancing the town, strengthening its offer and supporting levy payers during a vital trading period.
