Crewe Day is back on Saturday, July 4th, and for town centre businesses, it’s one of the biggest footfall opportunities of the year.

Running from 12pm to 6pm, the free event draws residents, visitors and families into the heart of Crewe for a full day of entertainment, markets and activities.

Organised by Crewe Town Council and supported by Crewe BID and Discover Crewe, the event marks the anniversary of the first trains passing through Crewe Station on 4th July 1837, making this year’s edition almost 190 years on from that moment.

This year’s programme includes The People Powered Rocket by Walk the Plank, giant elephant puppets, a community parade, live music, artisan and makers markets, heritage activities, a climbing wall, family attractions and fairground rides across the town centre.

Activities at Crewe Heritage Centre are also part of the day, including a Miniature Steam Up with Foxfield Railway. Additional support this year comes from Crewe-based Mornflake.

For businesses in the BID area, an event of this scale brings a significant number of people through the town centre who might not otherwise visit on a regular Saturday. It’s worth thinking now about how your business can make the most of the day – whether that’s extended hours, window displays, outdoor trading where applicable, or simply making sure you’re open and visible.
