From millions of views for Discover Crewe to investment in safer streets, business support and events bringing people into town, Crewe BID has shared the results of its second year at its 2026 Annual General Meeting.

Held at Crewe Market Hall, the AGM brought together businesses and partners to review progress across Crewe town centre, Nantwich Road and Grand Junction Retail Park, alongside the launch of the BID’s Year Two Annual Report.

The meeting highlighted the work delivered between April 2025 and March 2026, with investment continuing across the BID’s three priorities: creating a better Crewe experience, making the town cleaner, greener and safer, and connecting Crewe’s business communities.

One of the year’s biggest developments has been the growth of Discover Crewe, which launched in June 2025 and has since become a year-round platform for promoting local businesses, venues, events and experiences.

During 2025/26, Discover Crewe content generated more than 1.9 million social media views, over 84,000 interactions and 456,000 video views. More than 21,000 people visited the website, while 72 pieces of media coverage helped take stories about Crewe to audiences locally, regionally and nationally.

Events have also played an important part in encouraging people to visit and explore the town, with BID investment supporting Crewe Pride, Discover Crewe-on-Sea, Diwali Fusion, the Rail Ale Trail, Crewe Spooktacular and A Very Crewe Christmas.

Discover Crewe-on-Sea attracted more than 1,500 visitors over three days, while the five-week Christmas campaign generated almost half a million content views and helped grow the Discover Crewe social media audience by 14%.

Alongside the marketing and events programme, the AGM highlighted continued investment in practical improvements to the trading environment.

Enhanced cleansing along Nantwich Road and around the Ruskin Road junction has included steam cleaning, graffiti removal, vegetation clearance and improvements to street furniture.

The BID-funded Business Crime Reduction Partnership has also expanded, with a dedicated Business Crime Officer, improved radio network and specialist drug detection dog deployments supporting businesses across the BID area.

Working alongside Cheshire Police and other agencies, the programme contributed to a reported 20% reduction in antisocial behaviour in Crewe town centre.

Business engagement and training have remained priorities, with more than 80 businesses contacted through the Discover Crewe marketing team and free training opportunities offered in subjects including first aid, health and safety and workplace wellbeing.

Graham Saunders, Chair of Crewe BID, said in his message to levy payers within the annual report: “As a local business manager myself, I know how valuable that collective investment can be. Marketing, training and town-wide campaigns can be difficult to fund alone, but through the BID we can deliver them on a much bigger scale and make sure organisations of different sizes have the chance to benefit.”

Looking ahead, the BID outlined plans to build on the work already delivered, with further destination marketing, events, environmental improvements and business support planned for 2026/27.

These include additional cleansing in the town centre around Victoria Street, Queensway and Market Square, continued investment in the Business Crime Reduction Partnership and further training opportunities for levy payers.

Discover Crewe will also continue to develop, with targeted campaigns, its What’s On guide and more opportunities for businesses to be featured in promotional activity.

The AGM also welcomed Stuart Manifould, Chief Executive Officer of The Dome Youth Zone, who shared an update on the new facility and the opportunities it will provide for young people across Crewe.
