In December 2023 Cheshire East Council declared the result from the recent ballot for a Business Improvement District (BID) in Crewe. The outcome from the ballot of liable organisations and businesses was that a majority (67%) had approved the proposal for the BID, which will now commence from the 1st of April 2024 for five years until 2029.

The BID will raise £1.6million of additional private sector led investment over the next five years, which will fund projects that create a better experience for consumers, visitors and employees; delivers a safer, cleaner and greener Crewe; and enables a stronger and more connected business community within the Crewe BID area. The result also provides businesses with a new opportunity to support future developments and improvements to the area covered by BID.  The BID area covers Crewe Town Centre, Grand Junction Retail Park, and Nantwich Road.

The Crewe BID Company Ltd is inviting eligible individuals to become a Director of the Crewe BID Company Ltd. If you are an occupier of premises which will be liable for a BID levy (any premises within the BID area with a rateable value equal to or above £12,000 will be liable for a levy), you are invited to put forward a representative to be considered as Director of the Crewe BID Company Ltd.

There will be up to 12 Directors and the Board will need to represent the diverse range of organisations across the BID area as well as ensure that the board is geographically representative of the Crewe BID area. If you would like to put forward a representative you can register your interest by completing the two-minute registration process at www.connectingcrewe.co.uk.  The deadline for submissions is the 24th of January 2024.
